Hey, I'm Simeon
Photographer and people person. I always enjoyed traveling to new places, meeting new people, and taking snapshots of pretty much everything that crossed my eyes. But things started to get serious when I had the time to really dive deep into new cultures. While learning the local languages, I got the opportunity to really get to know the people, learn about their interests, their struggles, their passions. And at this point taking snapshots was not enough anymore.
I had to develop my photography skills to match what I saw in front of my camera: complex, beautiful people with a story to tell.
The goal of my photography is quite simple but by no means unambitious: portraying people. Since people are quite complex creatures, I will never stop striving for more creative and more worthy paths to showcase them.
Living and working in different parts of the world definitely left a mark on me. Exploring new ways and places either in geographical terms or in the work environment is a big part of what I love to do and find necessary to grow and learn. Teaming up with people of different skill sets, opinions and worldviews is challenging but always rewarding in the end.
To me, photography starts way before I press the shutter button. And it usually ends with a hot cup of coffee or tea, engaged in a lively conversation about the photograph.
So, if you enjoy my work, do not hesitate to contact me.
